Sophie Goodman

Sophie is an anthropologist and an experienced practitioner of qualitative and ethnographic research in applied settings. She combines a social science perspective with strong research skills to the study of industries, markets and human experiences.

Sophie has designed and conducted research to meet a range of objectives from exploratory, strategic insights to concept and usability testing. Her projects have spanned multiple contexts including Government, health insurance and financial services. She has worked both as an independent freelancer and for large global consulting organisations and is able to balance robust insights with practical research design and timeframes.

She has a Masters in Applied Anthropology and received Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation for Academic Excellence and the Kalpana Ram Prize for Ethnographic Methodology for this degree. She is also active in the social science community internationally with volunteering and ambassador roles for the National Association of Practising Anthropologists (US), Ethnographic Praxis in Industry Conference and the European Association for Social Anthropologists.
