Help me help you - closing the feedback loop together
Half day workshop, Wednesday August 29 (afternoon).
Wondering why you can’t get through to “that” person on your team, or how you can understand your clients' needs quickly? What about getting better at soliciting feedback for your own work - or helping your colleagues clarify their timelines or project details so that you’re all on the same page? You’ve been through design school, read countless books or articles, and watched conference talks about critique - but it's clear there’s still room for improvement. You need practice - and you need feedback on your feedback!
This workshop takes a multimodal approach to address these needs. Each section opens with theoretical and practical information, followed by structured role play, discussion, and reflection. You'll give and receive feedback in both directions - gaining experience in giving targeted feedback about design or performance issues in diverse scenarios, and in providing your partner with feedback about how well their intended message was communicated. Your learning will be activated during the workshop role plays, shared and extended during debriefs and group discussion, and reframed via reflection for use back at home.
