The psychology of future UX

Tinder doesn’t care about 7 ± 2 working memory, user testing isn’t a psychology experiment and validated surveys recall mainframes from the 1980s. A quick (re)look at how psychology can and should influence UX practitioners and what tools we can use to design great experiences.

Chris Riley is a Senior UX designer at SEEK. Starting out as a fresh faced psychology graduate 10 years ago he cut his teeth at NCR Usability Lab in Scotland, then via a PhD in HCI and a stint at Google in Ireland, made his way to warmer climes in Australia.
