Martin Tomitsch

Martin Tomitsch is a Professor of Interaction Design at the University of Sydney’s Design Lab and Director of Innovation at the University of Sydney’s Education Portfolio. He has taught user experience and interaction design at universities for over 15 years. As a design researcher, he has worked on interactive projects, often exploring new ways for people to interact with digital platforms in urban environments—from encouraging households to use less energy to designing the way autonomous vehicles interact with pedestrians. In addition to publishing academic research papers, Martin writes about methods and their application in user experience design and innovation projects, aiming to bridge the gap between academic theory and practice.

His recent books include Design Think Make Break Repeat—a handbook of design methods (published by BIS), and Making Cities Smarter—which translates user experience design principles to smart city applications (published by jovis).
