How to build an Agile UX team

This presentation will be a very candid discussion on the experiences and challenges faced by NBN Co in building an Agile UX team in the last 12 months. It will particularly focus on the culture and human aspects of building an Agile UX practice.

The ideas covered will include:

  • integrating and developing stronger working relationships with stakeholders and other project team members (devs, BAs, testers)
  • educating a young company about UX, especially skeptical others who’ve never worked with UX practitioners before
  • how to develop a culture of openness, transparency and innovation
  • truly deliver agile in fortnightly iterations with monthly releases whilst balancing the need for user research

The presentation will describe how building an Agile UX team is a journey, how we have a way to go towards our destination but are making wins. It will discuss and present both a manager’s and a practitioner’s points of views. We’ll be honest and upfront about the failures and the mistakes we’ve made.

This presentation will be great for those wanting to give Agile UX a go but don’t know where to start. Hopefully our learnings and war stories may make your challenges less painful when you have to face them.
