Designing UX with the principals of permaculture

The UX industry has settled into maturity, with definite methodologies, and approaches. In no way attempting to create another one, this talk looks at the permaculture principals of community, fairness and sustainability and how they can neatly fit into a balanced design ethos. This talk will reference content from http://permacultureprinciples.com.

Hilary Cinis has been working in digital design since 1992, seeing the roles and expectations of designers change over that time. She has worked freelance, at Yahoo!/Yahoo!7, and the ABC where she was responsible for the iview experience before becoming the Head of Design for TV Online. She is now at National ICT Australia (NICTA) creating workable interfaces and usable experiences for emerging technologies.
